Weekend Offerings!

Well, what have I been up to this weekend? Not a lot, I can tell you. I can tell you that I did spend 3 hours in the bath on Friday night chatting to my friend Anth up north. He always seems to catch me in the bath. Tut tut.

Anyway I had to go find a dress for the ball I invited myself to next saturday! I really thought it was going to be a nightmare but it didn't take to long at all. We (me and my friend Kat) started off in Monsoon which have a 50% sale on, so I tried on about 7 dresses and none of them did anything for me. So on to the next shop then which happened to be Warehouse. Not much happening in there apart from a really nasty smell! Eugh! Anyway we decided to try TK Maxx next but on the way we walked past Oasis and I saw this dress. What can I say, I just had to buy it!

Then as the guy I asked out for a few drinks on Saturday night didn't bother texting me back I sat in my PJ's watching Soapstar Superstar (which is soooo cheesy its great) and then I got a phone call from my little brothers fiance, Ellen. She asked if I wanted to be her bridesmaid! OMG! I nearly cried. They are planning on getting married next August. WOW! So this morning I got up and started altering a book I have for her to use as a wedding book. Hope she likes it!

Christmas Presents - Part 4!

Hiya, well I finally got round to finishing some more Christmas presents and thought I would share some pictures with you. The first is a vase/candle holder for my nana. I really like the way this one turned out!

The next Christmas present is for my sister. Its a tin to store her tarot cards in. I asked her to choose her favourite tarot cards and scan them in and print them out. She gave me 6 cards and they were all yellows and blues. I decided to go with a green background to blend the two colours together. But the tin was bright white, so i used a green ink pad and stamped all over the tin and rubbed it in till it was a mottled green effect and no longer shiney white.

Anyway that's it for now, just my grandas to finish. I will post pics when i have finished that one. Take care everyone.

Barbie's Christmas List

Dear Santa,

Listen here, I've been helping you out every year, playing at being the perfect Christmas Present, wearing skimpy bathing suits in frigid weather, and drowning in fake tea from one too many tea parties, and I hate to break it to ya Santa, but IT'S DEFINITELY PAY BACK TIME! There had better be some changes around here this Christmas, or I'm gonna call for a nationwide meltdown (and trust me, you won't wanna be around to smell it). So, here's my holiday wish list for Christmas 2006. . .

1) A nice, comfy pair of sweat pants and a frumpy, oversized sweatshirt. I'm sick of looking like a hooker. How much smaller are these bathing suits gonna get? Do you have any idea what it feels like to have Nylon and Velcro up your butt?

2) Real underwear that can be pulled on and off. Preferably white. What bonehead at Mattel decided to cheap out and MOLD imitation underwear to my skin?!? It looks like cellulite!

3) A REAL man. Hey, maybe GI JOE . Hell, I'd take Tickle-Me-Elmo over that wimped out excuse for a boy toy Ken. And what's with that earring anyway? If I'm gonna have to suffer with him, at least make him (and me) anatomically correct.

4) Arms that actually bend, so I can push the aforementioned Ken-wimp away once he is anatomically correct.

5) Breast reduction surgery. I don't care whose arm you have to twist, just get it done.

6) A jog-bra to wear until I get the surgery.

7) A new career. Pet doctor and school teacher just don't cut it. How about a systems analyst? Or better yet, a public relations senior account exec!

8) A new, more up to date persona. Maybe "PMS Barbie", complete with a mini container of chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and a bag of chips; "Animal Rights Barbie", with my very own paint gun, fitted with a fake fur coat, bottle of spray on blood and handcuffs; or "Stop Smoking Barbie," sporting a Nicotrol patch and equipped with several packs of gum.

9) No more McDonald's endorsements. The grease is wrecking my vinyl.

10) Mattel stock options. It's been 37 years - I think I deserve it.

Okay Santa, that's it. Considering my valuable contribution to society, I don't think these requests are out of line. If you disagree, then you can find yourself a new girl for next Christmas. It's just that simple.

Love,

Barbie

Christmas Plans!

Hi people! I have settled on this layout of my blog for now, I have decided to concentrate more on it in the new year when I have some spare time. I'm just really busy at the minute. I have lots of nights out planned and friends coming to stay. Plus on top of that i have lots of Christmas presents still to make. ARGH - when am i going to find the time???

Well its my works night out on Thursday, free drinks and a hotel room booked so I will be pretty smashed. Then on Friday I am going over to my friend Kat's to help her get ready for her works night out. Then as it was supposed to be the day I was going to get marrried, I am going to get dressed up and celebrate my single freedom! I am planning on sitting in Revolution Vodka Bar and sampling every single one of their cocktails!

I have 2 of my friends, Nikki and Ian, coming over to visit on Saturday. We are going to do a bit of shopping and then go on a night out round Manchester centre. I will be well ready for my week off from work next week! But I can't spend all my time recovering from that I have Christmas presents to make!

Anyway, back to work I suppose. Catch you all later!

Christmas Presents - Part 3!

Thought i would share the pictures of my mums Christmas Present! I'm really pleased with the way this one turned out! I kept it quite simple with plain cardstock and ribbon. The chip board letters have been Mod Podged to give them a shine and the keys were from a scrap merchant!

The poem reads:

Life holds many doors. Some are open and some are closed. Some need keys to open. Some doors have ornate handles and stained glass windows. In life we strive to open these fancy doors, leaving the plain ones behind, when in truth, the plain ones hold the best treasure:
